MAURICE GREER JR

Maurice Greer Jr, 77, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, following an extended illness.  Maurice was owner/operator of Greer Construction and Greer Septic Tank Pumping.  He was retired from The Town of Rogersville Water Department and Co-owner of Discount Plumbing.  Maurice was an avid farmer, where he was most happy digging in the dirt.  He professed his faith in the Lord in March of 1986 and was a member of North Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice H. Greer, Sr. and Helen Louise Hagood Greer, sister Phyllis Ann Greer Price and infant brother Jimmy Greer.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie Newman Greer, sons, Maurice (Pete)Greer III and wife Sharon of Johnson City, Shawn Hatchett and wife Penny of Rogersville, Tony Hatchett and wife Sandy of Rogersville, Darrin Hatchett and wife Jennifer of Rogersville, eleven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brother Robert (Bud) Greer and wife Helen of Rogersville, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Broome Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sonny Davis and Rev. Chip McLain officiating.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2024, at McKinney Cemetery.
